Weather Discussion for Wednesday September 11, 2019

Normal high/ low temperatures for Sept 9-Sept 16  (high/low) Redding 90/60  Chico 90/54, Quincy 83/38, Chester 80/40, Susanville 79/43, Grass Valley 83/51, Weaverville 88/42, Mt. Shasta 78/43, Yreka 83/45, Alturas 79/36.
  
This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

Today through Saturday a weak high pressure ridge will continue over the western U.S.   Northern California will see mostly clear skies with daytime temperatures a few degrees above normal.  Winds will be light.  

Late Saturday a low pressure trough will deepen along the coast.  This trough will move across Northern California late Sunday and Monday (see map below).  Clouds will be increase late Saturday, and Sunday through Monday afternoon we will have partly cloudy skies with showers and possible thunderstorms late Sunday and Monday.  Temperatures will be below normal and gusty south to southwest winds will occur Saturday and Sunday with gusty northwest winds Monday afternoon.

Tuesday through the end of next week.  High pressure will be along and over the west coast.  This means a return to sunny skies and above normal temperatures.
