This morning's satellite picture (below) shows a low pressure area and frontal system entering the Pacific Northwest. This system will split apart with the southern portion moving across Northern California late Sunday and Monday. Today will be sunny with above normal temperatures and south winds in the afternoon. Clouds begin to increase Sunday afternoon and then Monday will be partly cloudy to cloudy with showers and possible thunderstorms. Temperatures will be below normal and gusty south winds will occur Sunday and Monday.
Tuesday the north state will be partly sunny to partly cloudy with temperatures remaining below normal. Late Wednesday another low pressure trough will approach the coast and split apart with the southern end moving across our area late Wednesday and Thursday (see map below). Look for more showers and thunderstorms late Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will continue below normal with gusty south to southwest winds at times.
Friday and Saturday look to be partly to mostly sunny with temperatures near normal. Another splitting low pressure trough could more through the area late Sunday and Monday.
