This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring
The low pressure area is still off the coast but is moving slowly eastward. It now looks like the low will take a little further south track and will move across the Oregon/California border late Friday and early Saturday (see map below). Today will be mostly sunny and Thursday we will see a few clouds with a chance of isolated thunderstorms over the mountains. Temperatures will be near normal today and a few degrees below normal Thursday. Light to moderate south to southwest winds will occur in the afternoons.
Friday and Saturday the clouds and chance of thunderstorms will increase especially from Redding northward. Most of the activity will be over the higher elevations but there is a chance of a thunderstorm moving across the north end of the valley. Temperatures will be 8 to 12 degree below normal. Gusty southwest to northwest winds will occur in the afternoons.
Sunday high pressure returns over the western U.S. This will bring a return of sunny weather and normal or slightly above temperatures for most of next week.
