Weather Discussion for Saturday August 31, 2019

Normal high/ low temperatures for Aug 26-Sept 2  (high/low) Redding 96/62  Chico 93/57, Quincy 86/40, Chester 82/41, Susanville 83/46, Grass Valley 86/54, Weaverville 90/46, Mt. Shasta 83/47, Yreka 87/48, Alturas 84/40.
  
This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

High pressure continues over the western U.S.   The high will weaken  as a low pressure area forms off the Oregon coast about midweek (see map below).  Today through Wednesday the inland areas of Northern California will be mostly clear.  Thursday there will be some afternoon cumulus over the mountains with a chance of an isolated thunderstorm.  Friday through next weekend look clear.  Daytime temperatures will be 4 to 8 degrees above normal through Tuesday and then cool slowly to near normal by the weekend.  Winds will be light.
