This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

High pressure is over the western U.S.   The high will remain  in place for the next week.  However, late Tuesday and Wednesday a weak upper level low pressure area will be off the coast (see map below).  This low will pull some subtropical moisture northward and this could trigger isolated thunderstorms over the higher elevations Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.   Temperatures will continue 5 to 10 degrees above normal through Friday and then cool a little on the weekend.   Winds will be light south to southwest winds in the afternoons.
