Weather Discussion for Monday August 19, 2019

Normal high/ low temperatures for Aug 17-Aug 17  (high/low) Redding 97/63  Chico 94/58, Quincy 87/41, Chester 83/43, Susanville 86/49, Grass Valley 86/54, Weaverville 92/47, Mt. Shasta 84/48, Yreka 89/50, Alturas 86/41.
This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

High pressure still holding with little change expected for next 10 days (see map below).  The inland areas of Northern California will be mostly clear.  High temperatures today through Wednesday will be near normal and then above normal Thursday through early next week.  Winds will be light except for locally gusty southwest to northwest winds in the afternoons.

The extended forecast model shows the dry weather continuing through mid September with a wetter pattern possible in late September.
