The clouds over Northern California this morning are from a frontal system that is nearing the coast and is being dissipated by the high pressure ridge that is over the western U.S.  This front has held together a little more than expected and there could be a few light showers over the northwest corner of the state.  Temperatures today will be near normal south of Redding and several degrees below normal north of Redding.  Gusty southwest to northwest winds will occur this afternoon.

The high pressure ridge will bounce back Thursday and will hold over the western U.S. for the next week (see map below).  Temperatures will be 3 to 7 degrees above normal and winds will be light.
