Weather Discussion for Wednesday July 3, 2019

This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

High pressure continues to try and build northward along the the west coast.   However, the very weak cutoff low that is over Western Canada is holding it down.   This will slowly change and by this weekend the high will be along the coast (see map below). 

Today and Thursday the inland areas of Northern California will be mostly sunny with some afternoon cumulus clouds over the far north end of the state. Temperatures will be a few degrees below normal and winds will be light.  Saturday through most of next week we will have sunny skies with temperatures slightly above normal and light winds.
