The map below shows not much change expected. The normal summertime high pressure area is over the Southwestern U.S. However, the persistent low pressure area over western Canada has stopped it from pushing northward. When this high pushes north during the summer is when we get our really hot weather.
The next 7 days the inland areas of Northern California will be mostly sunny. Temperatures will start off near normal and then rise to above normal by midweek and then cool to near normal by the weekend. Winds will be light.
