This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring
Cooler and even a little wetter weather is on the way. The high pressure ridge that has been over and along the coast for the past couple of weeks is weakening and moving eastward. Today and Sunday we will see sunny skies with temperatures about like yesterday. Winds will be light. Monday we will see further cooling and a few clouds in the afternoon as a weak frontal system approaches the coast. Tuesday there is a chance of an afternoon shower near the the Oregon border.
Late Wednesday and Thursday a weak low pressure trough will be along and the coast and will move across the north state late Thursday and early Friday (see map below). During this time Northern California will see partly cloudy skies with a few showers and thunderstorms over the foothills and mountains with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the valley. Temperatures will cool to near normal.
Next weekend look partly to mostly sunny with near normal temperatures.
