This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

The current weather pattern we are under shows little signs of changing.   Today high pressure is off the coast and a weak upper level low pressure area is over Southern California.   There will be some afternoon cumulus clouds today over the mountains with the chance of an isolated thunderstorm..  The valley stay mostly sunny.  Temperatures will be slightly above normal..

Tuesday through Friday the high pressure ridge will be off the coast.  The northstate will be sunny with some afternoon mountain cumulus.   Temperatures will slowly warm to near 10 degrees above normal by Friday.  Winds will be light Tuesday and Wednesday with increasing north winds Thursday and Friday.

Another weak upper level low pressure area will form over Southern California by the weekend (see map below).  This could trigger some afternoon thunderstorms over the mountains east of the valley.  Temperatures will cool a few degrees.
