This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring
The low pressure area that moved through yesterday is now over the Southwestern U.S. The counter clockwise flow around the low has pushed clouds over Northern California and showers will continue over the higher elevations north and east of Redding today.
High pressure is building along the west coast and by the weekend will be along and over the west coast (see map below). Most of the north state will be sunny but there will be some afternoon cloudiness over the mountains north and east of the valley with a chance of isolated showers through Friday. The valley and the rest of the north state will be mostly sunny with temperatures warming to above normal by Thursday and continuing above normal through the weekend.
