Weather Discussion for Wednesday March 6, 2019

Normal high/ low temperatures for Mar 4-Mar 11  (high/low) Redding 63/41, Chico 64/41, Quincy 55/28, Chester 48/25, Susanville 51/29, Grass Valley 56/35, Weaverville 58/30, Mt. Shasta 53/41, Yreka 54/29, Alturas 50/24

This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

 The low pressure area is now over Northern and Central California and is moving eastward.  Showers today with the snow level 5000 to 6000 feet.  The low will be east of our area tomorrow and the showers will be decreasing and mainly over the foothills and mountains.  Snow levels will lower to 3000 to 4000 feet. 

Friday we will see partly sunny skies and near normal temperatures.   Saturday a low pressure area will move across Northern and Central California (see map below).  This system will bring scattered showers to the area Saturday and early Sunday.  Snow levels will stay 3000 to 4000 feet. 

Sunday afternoon and Monday we will see some sunshine and near normal temperatures and then another low pressure trough will bring rain to the area Tuesday and Wednesday.
