This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.
Note the satellite links will be not quite right due to new satellite.
This morning's satellite picture (below) shows a frontal system off the coast weakening as it hits the high pressure ridge that is over western Canada and the western U.S. This ridge will continue to block systems through early next week. Today through Monday we will partly sunny to partly cloudy skies with daytime temperatures a few degrees above normal. Winds will be light.
Late Tuesday and Wednesday a low pressure trough move under the ridge and into Central California (see map below) This low will bring a few clouds and scattered light showers to the north state. Snow levels will be 4500 to 5500 feet.
Thursday and Friday we are back to partly sunny with a few clouds and then late Saturday and Sunday another low pressure area will push through Central and Northern California.
