Note the satellite links will be not quite right due to new satellite.

Quite a bit of residual moisture is over Northern California.   Today we will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light showers.  This morning's satellite picture (below) shows a well developed low pressure area out to ur west.  This low is moving slowly eastward and will be off the coast late Tuesday and Wednesday.  During this time we will have rain, heavy at times, with snow levels 5000 to 6000 feet.  Gusty south winds  will occur late Tuesday and early Wednesday.

Thursday and Friday the low will be over Northern California and Nevada (see map below).   The precipitation will turn to showers and slowly decrease Friday.   Snow levels will drop to around 3000 feet.

There will be a break Friday and part of Saturday and then another low pressure area will move through late Saturday and Sunday.
