This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.
High pressure continues over the west coast but will start to rapidly weaken Monday. Today and Sunday we will have partly sunny (smoky) skies with above normal temperatures and light winds. Monday we will see more clouds and cooler temperatures.
Tuesday through next weekend there will be a low pressure trough along the coast (see map below). During this time several frontal systems will move across the north state. The first will bring rain to the area Tuesday night and Wednesday. Thursday we see showers with another storm system Thursday night and Friday. The weekend looks like periods of rain or showers. Snow levels will start off at 5500 to 6500 feet but will drop to 4000 to 5000 feet by late Wednesday and will remain around that level through the weekend. Gusty south to southwest winds will precede each storm system.
