Weather Discussion for Wednesday September 12, 2018

Normal high/ low temperatures for Sept 10-Sept 17  (high/low) Redding 91/58, Chico 90/54, Quincy 83/37, Chester 77/38, Susanville 79/42, Grass Valley 81/51, Weaverville 86/42, Mt. Shasta 77/43, Yreka 82/44, Alturas 79/35

This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

The low pressure trough is now along the coast and will linger there through the weekend (see map below).  This system has brought cooler air into the north state and could trigger a few showers over Siskiyou and Modoc  counties today and early Thursday.  Elsewhere skies will be clear for the the week with temperatures contining below normal.   Gusty southwest to northwest winds will occur today.  

Extended forecast models look dry through the next 10 to 14 days.
