This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

Not much change in our short term weather.  HIgh pressure is over our area and will hold through the weekend.  Skies will be clear with temperatures 5 to 10 degrees above normal.  Winds will be southerly in the afternoon which should help keep the smoke north of Redding.

The interesting part of the weather is next week.   The high will begin to weaken Sunday and Monday as a low pressure trough develops off the west coast.  The map below is a comparison of the European and U,S, GFS models for mid September.  Both show a trough along the coast and while this trough is a not strong enough to be a rain maker....it is a start.   Longer range forecast models show it strengthening after the 15th.
