Weather Discussion for Saturday June 23, 2018

Normal high and low temperatures for June 18-June 25  (high/low) Redding 92/63, Chico 91/58, Quincy 83/42, Chester 80/42, Susanville 82/47, Grass Valley 82/53, Weaverville 87/45, Mt. Shasta 80/47, Yreka 84/48, Alturas 81/41

This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

A strong high pressure ridge is over the west coast.   Today and Sunday Northern California will be sunny and hot with some areas in the north valley reaching 105 to 110 degrees.  Gusty north winds will occur today and early Sunday. 

Monday through next weekend we will under a normal summer weather pattern like the one shown on the map below.   High pressure will be over the western U.S. and off the coast.   Temperatures will cool a few degrees Monday and temperatures through the rest of the week should be 3 to 6 degrees above normal.   Winds will be light with another round of gusty north winds possible next weekend.
