This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.
High pressure is beginning to build off the west coast. The high will continue to push northward over the next few days as a low pressure area moves into western Canada and then drops southward into Nevada and Utah. Friday through the weekend we will be under the weather pattern shown on the map below.
Today and Thursday we will see mostly clear skies with temperatures above normal. Winds will be light today but increase from the northwest Thursday afternoon. Friday through the weekend the areas east of the Sierra Cascade Crest will see have partly cloudy skies with isolated light showers. The rest of Northern California will be sunny with temperatures near normal. However, the combination of the high just off the coast and low pressure just to our east will cause strong gusty north to northeast winds Friday through early Sunday.
The low will move slowly eastward next week and Monday through Wednesday we will return to sunny skies, temperatures slightly above normal and light winds.
