Impressive thunderstorm last night in west Redding and the Old Shasta area.  This morning the low pressure area is along the Central California coast and is moving slowly eastward.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected over all Northern California today.

The parade of cutoff or closed lows is going to continue.  The current low pressure area will be over Nevada Thursday.   However, the map below shows another system nearing the coast Sunday and moving across the area Monday and early Tuesday.

Thursday afternoon and evening thunderstorms are expected over the areas north and east of the valley with partly to mostly sunny skies elsewhere.  Friday and Saturday the thunderstorms will be confined to the areas along and east of the Sierra Cascade Crest with sunny skies and slightly above normal temperatures elsewhere.  Sunday and Monday there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms over the foothills and mountains with isolated activity in the valley.

Tuesday and Wednesday the low will be moving east and the thunderstorms will over the areas north and east of the valley.
