This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

"Who Stopped the Rain" was a CCR song from the  70's.  The answer to this question is shown in the map below...a huge high pressure ridge that extends from off the Baja coast northward to the Arctic.  This ridge is building along the coast today and will be a full strength by the weekend and should hold there through mid February.

This means mostly sunny skies with a few high clouds.   Daytime temperatures above normal...this weekend and early next week we see record temps for this time of year.  There will be periods of gusty north winds.

I am not sure of the cause of this ridge in December and again now.  Could be linked to the Arctic Oscillation.
