Normal high and low temperatures for Dec 11-Dec 18  (high/low)...Redding 55/36, Chico 56/36, Quincy 45/24, Chester 42/21, Susanville 41/22, Grass Valley 54/31, Weaverville 47/29, Mt. Shasta 45/25, Yreka 44/25, Alturas 43/18

This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

Little change in the weather today and Thursday as a strong high pressure ridge continues along the coast.  Friday the high will weaken slightly as a low pressure trough moves through the Pacific Northwest.  This system will bring some clouds to our area with slightly cooler temperatures.

Saturday through the mid part of next week the high pressure will be back along the coast (see map below).  Look for sunny skies and above normal daytime temperatures.  Gusty north winds are expected Saturday through Monday.

It looks like a low pressure trough will drop southward across Northern California late next Wednesday or Thursday.  This system does't look like it will have much moisture.
