This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.
A low pressure area is off the coast and will remain there through Thursday and then move slowly eastward across Northern California Friday. This low will bring periods of light to moderate rain to the north state today and Thursday. Snow levels will be 5000 to 6000 feet north and higher south. Gusty south winds will occur over the exposed areas and ridges. Friday the precipitation will turn to showers and will end by late afternoon. Snow levels will be 5000 feet north and 6000 feet south.
Saturday and part of Sunday we will see partly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Late Sunday and Monday another low pressure area will be along the coast (see map below). Light to moderate rain is expected late Sunday and Monday. Snow levels will continue 5000 to 6000 feet.
Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday a weaker trough will pass across our area. This system will bring light rain or showers to the foothills and mountains and north end of the valley.
