This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

There are a few clouds this morning over the areas north and east of the valley but they will decrease during the day.  The rest of the north state is mostly sunny.  Temperatures today will be near normal with light winds.

The next low pressure area, to affect Northern California, is developing in the Gulf of Alaska (see satellite picture below).  Clouds from this system will begin moving over the north state Tuesday and the low will along the north coast and over Northern California Wednesday and Thursday.   Rain will spread across our area Wednesday and continue through Thursday.  Snow levels will be 5000 to 6000 feet north and a little higher south.  Gusty south winds are expected Wednesday and Thursday.   Friday the low pressure trough will be moving eastward.  The precipitation will be turning to scattered showers and ending during the day.

Saturday looks partly to mostly sunny.   However, another low pressure trough will move into our area Sunday and Monday with more rain.
