This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

The high pressure ridge will remain over the area through midday Wednesday.  We will have partly to mostly sunny skies with a few mid and high clouds and temperatures will continue above normal.  Winds will be light.

The high begins to weaken late Wednesday.  Thursday a low pressure trough will move across the area (see map below).  This system will bring rain to the foothills and mountains of Northern California with scattered showers elsewhere.   Snow levels will drop to 5000 to 6000 feet.  Skies will be partly cloudy Friday and then Friday night and Saturday a weaker frontal system will bring light rain to the north coast, Trinity, Siskiyou, northern Shasta, and Modoc counties with a few clouds elsewhere.

Sunday high pressure begins to rebuild over the western U.S. and  is expected to remain there most of next week.  Skies will be clear with temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above normal by mid week.
