This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.
The high pressure ridge is still off the coast. Today and Thursday the northstate will be mostly sunny with temperatures continuing above normal. Winds will be light. Friday the high will begin to weaken as a low pressure trough and frontal system move through the Pacific Northwest. We will see a few clouds with maybe a light shower or sprinkle near the Oregon border. Saturday will be sunny with light to moderate north winds and near normal temperatures.
Sunday we will start to see a few clouds as the high pressure ridge continues to weaken and a low pressure trough develops off the Canadian coast (see map below). Temperatures will be near normal. Monday this trough will move across our area with light rain or showers over the foothills and mountains and the chance of a sprinkle in the valley.
A stronger low pressure trough will be along the California coast Tuesday and Wednesday for a better chance of wetting rains.
