This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

Cooling continues across Northern California.   The high pressure ridge is weakening as a low pressure area moves into western Canada.  Temperatures today through Wednesday will be down to near normal.   There is enough residual moisture over the north end of the state for isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms across Siskiyou and Modoc counties.

Thursday through the weekend the high pressure ridge will slightly rebuild off the coast (see map below).   During this time the north state will have clear skies inland with night and morning fog and low clouds at the coast.   Temperatures will be a few degrees above normal.
