This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

A strong high pressure ridge is over the western U.S. and will hold there for the next 7 days (see map below).  The flow around the high is puling a little subtropical moisture northward and this will result in isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms today and Tuesday.  There is a slight chance of the storms moving out across the north end of the valley late this afternoon.   Wednesday through the weekend the north state will be mostly clear inland with fog and low clouds at the coast.

Temperatures for the next 7 days will continue 10 to 18 degrees above normal.   The Redding and Red Bluff areas will continue a couple degrees below or above 110.  Strong and gusty north winds will occur Wednesday through Friday morning.
