Get ready for hot weather....

This past weekend saw temperatures 10 to 20 degrees below normal...next weekend we will have temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above normal.

The low pressure area is now over Nevada and moving eastward.   However, the flow around the low will push clouds over the eastern portions of Northern California through this evening with a few showers along and east of the Sierra Cascade Crest.  The rest of the north state will be sunny and a little warmer.

Tuesday high pressure begins to build over the western U.S. and along the west coast.  The high will continue to strengthen through the weekend with a strong high pressure ridge continuing over our area through the mid part of next week (see map below)   The inland areas of the north state will be mostly sunny with temperatures back up to normal by midweek.  The warmup will continue and by Friday and the weekend some areas of the north valley will be at or just over the 100 degree mark. Winds will be light.
