This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.
The good news is the gusty north winds will be ending later today. High pressure continues along the coast and will hold there through Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures will warm today and Tuesday and by Tuesday daytime temperatures will be 6 to 12 degrees above normal.
The high pressure ridge will begin to move eastward Wednesday as a low pressure trough approaches the coast. Temperatures will cool and clouds will increase in the afternoon.
Thursday through the weekend a low pressure trough will be along and over the west coast (see map below). Thursday a frontal system will move through the area with partly cloudy to cloudy skies. There will be light rain over the foothills and mountains with a chance of showers in the north end of the valley. Friday and Saturday there will be clouds and showers over the coastal and northern mountains. The rest of the north state will be partly sunny to partly cloudy. Sunday and Monday a stronger storm system will move through more rain and showers.
