This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

High pressure is still over Northern California and today should be a repeat of yesterday with above normal temperatures and light winds.   Tuesday the high begins to weaken.  Temperatures will begin to cool and clouds will increase.   Wednesday a weak low pressure trough will move across the area (see map below).  This system will bring clouds to the north state and cooler temperatures.   Light rain will occur over the coastal and northern mountains with showers elsewhere.  Snow levels will be 6000 feet or higher.

There will be a brief break between systems Thursday and part of Friday.   Another weak storm will bring light precipitation to the area Friday night and Saturday.  Snow levels will be 5000 to 6000 feet.

Another system will move through the area Sunday night and Monday.  The longer range forecast models are indicating a return to wetter weather next week.
