This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.
This morning's satellite picture (below) shows a low pressure trough and frontal system off the coast. This will be a fast moving spring-type weather system...moving rapidly through our area with light precipitation and followed by gusty north winds. We will have light showers later today and early Thursday mainly over the foothills and mountains with a chance of light showers in the valley north of Red Bluff. Snow levels will drop to around 4000 feet early Thursday. The showers will end Thursday morning, skies will be clearing and strong gusty north winds will move into the area.
Friday and Saturday the north state will be sunny with gusty north winds. Sunday another fast moving low pressure trough will move through with light showers over the mountains.(see map below). Skies will be clearing Sunday night and another round of gusty north winds will start. Monday and Tuesday we will have sunny skies with gusty north winds Monday.
